Katherine is a robotics mechanical engineer in the Advanced Robotic Systems Group at JPL. She is currently working on a project designing and building a mine-exploration robot, a project putting ISAM missions in space, and is the hardware and field test lead for an airborne instrument. A large part of her work is in tether management systems for mobile and deployable robots. She has previously worked on R&D for Mars Sample Return, the development of sampling tools for Europa, and an inspection robot.
